Annual General Meeting

Dear all,

Last year those present at the Annual General Meetings voted to keep them on a Sunday rather than a week night. As it’s a Sunday it will focus us on doing the business swiftly and of course efficiently.  The All Age Worship that precedes the business meetings is designed to help us focus on the Lord and His business. The passages we’ll be looking at are John 17 v 20-26 and Acts 13 v 22 and 36a. Try to have a look at them before Sunday please.

I guess that there are different view on meetings from “oh help” to “good game.” The business we are doing is the Lord’s business, from looking back and thanking God, to our giving in the accounts, to electing leaders, and to looking forward. There’s some very important stuff to tell you about regarding the state of the national churches and how we tackle reduced numbers, too many buildings and reduce the numbers of clergy. How does the kingdom of God grow in our parishes across Derby Diocese?

Please do pray for Sunday and make every effort to come.

Remember too please to pray for Lindsay as she recovers from her bowel cancer operation (early stages thankfully), for her family too. Give thanks for Lindsay’s joy and peace.

He is Lord!
