I was brought up in a Christian family but turned away from God at 15, I started travelling in 2011 and moved to New Zealand in 2013, it was there that I found God again and starting following Him. Since then He has opened up my eyes to a whole new world that is full of so much joy and adventure! One of which was bringing me back to the UK and giving me a job as a youth worker for two awesome churches in the towns that I grew up in!!

I am enjoying every single minute of my new jobs and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for me over the coming months and years!

Daniel’s Disturbing Dream
The Story from Daniel 7

This weeks Bible Study passage was Daniel’s Disturbing Dream when he dreamed of four strange beasts.

Daniel declared, “I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the great sea. And four great beasts came up out of the sea, different from one another. The first was like a lion and had eagles’ wings. Then as I looked its wings were plucked off, and it was lifted up from the ground and made to stand on two feet like a man, and the mind of a man was given to it. And behold, another beast, a second one, like a bear. It was raised up on one side. It had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth; and it was told, ‘Arise, devour much flesh.’ After this I looked, and behold, another, like a leopard, with four wings of a bird on its back. And the beast had four heads, and dominion was given to it. After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, terrifying and dreadful and exceedingly strong. It had great iron teeth; it devoured and broke in pieces and stamped what was left with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns. I considered the horns, and behold, there came up among them another horn, a little one, before which three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots. And behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking great things.

We drew images and made models of how we imagined the beasts.
The picture was produced by the creative imagination of the Group and takes Pride & Place on The Trinity Hall display board.

The slideshow that follows shows some of the images found on the internet.

Youth Group 6th March

Friday 6th March 2015

We handcuffsstarted with games Table Tennis and Pool, followed by a game with string as Handcuffs linked together in pairs. The object of the game was to separate from each other without taking the string off the wrists. No one succeeded and even Jon who organized it had difficulty. He promised to try this again next week.

The Twins treated us all to Milk Shakes and although it was delicious I can`t help thinking the lumps of chocolate in the bottom of the glass should have been blended into the Milk Shake

The Bible passage this week was Daniel 5 and we all took an active part in the discussion, after which I played this YouTube clip for the group on my iPad

Youth Group – Set Rules

Friday 27th February 2015
At this meeting the Youth Group had set out rules which they agreed they should abide by, it was signed by all members present, teenagers and adults.

Last nights activities included Pool and Table Tennis, it was nice to see the happy face of Emma who was in a jovial mood.

Refreshments were hot chocolate with marshmallows and crumbled chocolate, hot sausage rolls, cheese and bacon lattice.

Daniel 6: “Daniel and the Lions` Den” was this weeks discussion and everyone took an active part in the discussion which created a lot of interest.

Interesting to note that the latest published story in “The Bible App for Kids” (which caters for the younger children) was “A Roaring Rescue” “Daniel and the Lions` Den”

Youth Group

After several conversations over a longer period of time we have decided as a team and in consultation with our young people this week to alter our Friday night sessions. We are planning to have a trial period of 6 weeks, i.e. the next Derbyshire School Term (16 Feb to 27 March), during which time we will start our youth group sessions at church rather than at the sweet shop.

It will give us the opportunity to have a more casual, active start to our sessions as the young people will set up table tennis, pool table, board games and drawing materials to enjoy an interactive time together. We will consider what drinks/snacks to offer and will be able to vary these depending on seasons, requests, equipment,. As they grow older, there is an increasing need for informal times of chatting and conversations, both between the young people themselves and between them and the team. We are acutely aware that many of them carry troublesome burdens in their everyday lives which we feel need a space and a place to be included in our Friday evenings.

It will be sad to lose the link to the village and we are thankful to both Rachel, the previous owner & Sharon the current owner, for giving us such a lovely welcome. Please continue to keep the Youth & the Leaders in your prayers giving thanks to the Lord for all that has gone on so far.

Quiet Day

Friday 5th December 2014
The quiet day theme from last Saturday was set out by “Birgit” for the group to view and participate. It was the quietest I have ever seen these teenagers as they were engrossed in the activities especially lighting candles for
The Lord to Liberate these Lands

Afterwords in Trinity Hall they certainly made up for their quiet spell by letting off steam enjoying the games they organized.
