MATLOCK BATH LUNCH CLUB

You are invited to

HOLY TRINITY CHURCH MATLOCK BATH

12 noon to 2pm at the church on the first Thursday of every month

SOUP and SANDWICHES

No charge, donations welcome.
We would be delighted  if you would join us!

First, thank you to Sue Dargavel, Sheila Laming and Maria Austin for working with the District Council to ensure that our kitchen and other facilities meet Health and Safety requirements.

Secondly, we have two teams of 5 people in place to run the club, on alternate months, so we are grateful that so many have signed up. The first 3 sessions will be on 6th April, 4th May and 1st June. After this, we hope to continue with the pattern of the first Thursday in every month. Doors will be open from 12:00 (noon) till 2:00pm.

Thirdly, We would like all fellowship members to consider who they might like to invite along, OR, you might like to come and have your lunch at the club and be available to chat to those guests who come unaccompanied.

Thank you,  John Phillips and the Lunch Club Team

Thanks to everyone for praying for our first lunch club event and for your support. Sheila Laming, Maria Austin, Becky Gladstone and John and Hilary Phillips were the organising team, with Mike Pilling offering some practical help. A few fellowship members came along for their lunch and to help with the general welcome.

We had two guests from Cromford, one from Matlock Bath and one from Matlock. We hope they will come again! The soup and sandwiches were tasty and we felt that we achieved what we hoped: a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, with a nice buzz of easy conversation.

Do please continue to hold the venture in your prayers and consider who you might invite to the club over the next few months.  The second one was on Thursday 4th May and as well as the soup & sandwiches Irena Smith kindly baked an Apple Crumble Polish Style. Hopefully she will find time to provide more excellent Polish Cuisine at future sessions.

Congratulations to ……

Maria Austin, Sue Dargavel and Sheila Laming who have just received the top rating (a level 5) for their work in the HT kitchen and also made scrumptious soups ready for the launch of the Matlock Bath Lunch Club next month.
