The Queen has approved the nomination of the Venerable Janet Elizabeth McFarlane, BMedSci, BA, Archdeacon of Norwich, in the Diocese of Norwich, to the Suffragan See of Repton in the Diocese of Derby.

Jan will take the title Bishop of Repton, a Suffragan Bishop, working alongside the Bishop of Derby in leading the Church of England across the whole of the county as the second most senior appointment in the Diocese.

“I am honoured and delighted to have been invited to become the sixth Bishop of Repton. I know Derbyshire a little having spent the first 18 years of my life in north Staffordshire and I’m looking forward to really getting to know this beautiful county and those who live and work and worship here.”

Jan will be consecrated as a Bishop on Wednesday 29th June in London.
